Cooking Classes FAQ’s I don't see any classes posted on the online calendar. Why? We no longer hold open-to-the-public classes. Due to an overwhelming response to our hands-on cooking workshops, we are currently only booking pre-arranged groups of 8 to 10 people. If you are interested in taking a group class with your friends, family members, book club, etc., please call or e-mail us to arrange a class for you. * Please note that depending on the time of year, we are booked weeks to months in advanced, so we are unable to arrange last-minute requests. Can I request a private class? Absolutely! However, the cost for a 1 or 2 person two-hour private class is $150.00 USD. * Please note that depending on the season, we are booked weeks to months in advanced, so we are unable to arrange last-minute requests. How many people can you host in any given class? In order for us to host the best possible class and dinning experience, our enrollment for the hands-on cooking classes at Laur'as home certified gourment kitchen is limited to 10 students (We are sometimes able to stretch it to 12) . However, thanks to our collaboration with Meals on Wheels for WNY, we are now able to host classes for groups of any size at their beautiful state-of-the-art facilities. *We can take Culinary Demonstrations or Hands-on classes to other sites, and they can be for as many people as the site can hold. How much do the classes cost, and what do they include? Our cost is usually $50.00 dollars per person unless we agree on a different fee. The fee may increase depending on what your group wants to learn how to prepare and feast on. The price for corporate team-building events vary so contact us for more information about pricing. How do I reserve a group class? If you live in the Buffalo area, please feel free to call or e-mail us with your request. We will do our best to accomodate your date request. Do I need to pay when I make my reservation? We require at least 50% of the total amount of the class as a down payment at the time of reservation. The rest is due on the day of the class. We understand that life is unpredictable and that situations present themselves without warning. We have some of those moments on our end also; however, we regret to inform you that as of March 26th, 2008, cancellations made within less than 72 hrs. will not be refunded. Also, no-shows on the day of the class are subject to pay the full amount of the class. **Please note that we reserve the right to cancel any given class for any given reason. We will give you the curtesy of a phone call should an emergecy occur on our end. In this case, we will work with you to reschedule the class, or if we cannot agree on a later date, we will fully refund your down payment. What is your Gift Certificate policy? Please know that when you purchase or receive a Gift Certificate from us, it is only redeemable for Cooking Classes, or for purchasing any of the Gourmet Food items that we produce. *The Gift Certificates will not be redeemed for cash under any circumstance and they are not replaceable if lost, stolen, destroyed, or expired. Gift Certificates become void if altered, photocopied, or reproduced. Gift Certificates are not refundable. Also, unless otherwise stated and agreed upon, the Gift Certificates expire within one year and one month after being issued. Please refer your Gift Certificate recipient to our website for more information. Do you hold Corporate Teambuilding Events? Yes we do! The dynamics, location and price per participant varies from the regular classes. If your group is smaller than 12 people we can still hold it at our Gourmet Kitchen, however if your group has more than 12 team members, we will have to hold the event at an alternate location. Our alternate location of choice is the Community Learning Center at the beautiful and state-of-the-art facilities at Meals on Wheels in Buffalo. Please fell free to call or e-mail us to discuss pricing. Gourmet Products and Sauces FAQ's Where can I buy your sauces? We can be found in specialty stores in Buffalo, NY and the surrounding area. Please refer to our products page for the exact locations. For our out-of-area costumers, you can purchase our products by visiting our online store. I can't seem to find a sauce that I know you produce. How can I find it? If you can't find one of our sauces at a local store, or on our online store, please call or e-mail us to make us aware of it. We strive to have the retailers well stocked, and our online store updated, however, it is not always possible. We keep extra bottles and jars at our location and can always figure out a way of getting them to you. Can I purchase Laura's book Mexican Flavors: A Journey Inspired by the Folklore and & Traditions of Mexican Cuisines through this website? The First Edition of the book sold out 3 days after the release. You can now pre-order the Second Edition on our website, or by calling Laura at 716-881-5127.
